The Starship Earth Globe will take you through the universe where you can unlock mystery, develop your imagination, educate and more! This might be the next best thing to taking a ride on a space shuttle!
Exploration is at your fingertips. It would be wonderful to use in a classroom. You have 3 choices of styles.
This is a three-dimensional star atlas for the unaided eye. The impressive transparent outer sphere of the globe displays updated data from Sky Catalogue, 88 constellations, and over 1,100 naked-eye stars. Also represented here are deep sky objects and a precision grid of Right Ascension and Declination lines. Magellanic Clouds are shown in translucent blues.
Stars are identified by name, Greek letter designations, brightness, from first to fifth magnitude, and distance from the earth in light years. An easy three-step setting allows you to reproduce the Earth, Sun, and star movements from any time, date and location in the world. Pretty amazing!!!
You can discover more about how the Sun rises and sets, and how seasons change. The 5" inner earth sphere is in a vibrant blue globe with an adjustable horizon ring. The Starship comes with a 50-page instructional book written by George Lovi, an internationally renowned astronomy expert. You won't find anything like this any place else. This globe is truly in a universe of its own.
